A Russian Cartoonist from Moscow

He was born in the town of Antratsit (Ukraine). First publication came out in the year 1980. He has not completed his high school education, nor has any formal art education.

He was granted the First Prize for novel illustrations by the oldest Russian magazine Vokrug Sveta (“around the world”, which has been publishing since 1861 year), The magazine offered him a position of chief art designer, but he refused.

Valeri took part in several international cartoon competitions in Belgium, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Canada, Japan, Italy, Poland etc.

He worked as a free artist and collaborated with the biggest business Russian newspaper Commersant-Daily

His last work was as chief art designer of the monthly illustrated magazine “Japan Today”


Has won 10 prizes

  • Third Prize – Zaporozhie, 1989 (Ukraine)
  • Grand Prix – Dneprodzerzhinsk, 1994 (Ukraine)
  • First Prize – Tyumen, 1994 (Russia)
  • Second Prize – Dneprodzerzhinsk, 1995 (Ukraine)
  • Third Prize at the competition Not only IN VINO VERITAS” – Moscow, 2002 (Russia)
